Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 June 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that websites store on your device when you visit them. They are widely used to make websites function correctly, remember your preferences, and provide information to website operators about how the site is used.
This policy also covers browser local storage and session storage, which serve a similar purpose to cookies but store data differently and are not transmitted with every HTTP request.
2. What We Use
evtOS currently uses only the following:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-* | Cookie | Supabase authentication session. Keeps you logged in. | Session / up to 1 year |
| evtos-theme | Local Storage | Stores your dark/light theme preference. Not a cookie — stored locally in your browser and never sent to our servers. | Persistent (until cleared) |
| _sentry_* | Cookie / Local Storage | Error monitoring and session replay for Platform stability. Collects browser metadata, IP address, and session recordings when errors occur. No advertising or cross-site tracking. | Session / up to 90 days |
We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking cookies, or any third-party analytics cookies at this time.
We use Sentry for error monitoring and session replay. Sentry may set cookies or local storage items and collects technical data including IP address and browser session recordings when Platform errors occur. This data is used solely for diagnosing and fixing Platform issues.
3. Essential vs Optional Cookies
Essential cookies only: The authentication session cookie (sb-*) from Supabase Auth is strictly necessary for the Platform to function. Without it, you cannot log in or access authenticated areas. This cookie cannot be disabled without preventing Platform use.
Local storage — theme preference: The evtos-theme item in local storage is technically not a cookie and is not transmitted to our servers. It exists solely to preserve your visual preference (dark or light mode) between visits. Clearing your browser storage will reset this preference to the default (dark mode).
No optional tracking: We do not use optional analytics or advertising cookies. If we add analytics tools in future, we will update this policy and provide an appropriate consent mechanism.
4. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
Please be aware that deleting the Supabase authentication cookie will log you out of the Platform.
To clear local storage (including the theme preference), use your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage) or clear all site data via your browser's settings.
5. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Platform evolves and as we add new features or tools. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
